ARTORIA CASTER
NAME: Artoria Caster
CANON: Fate/Grand Order
CANON POINT: Summoned to Chaldea
AGE: 16
Personality
An innocent, energetic, and ordinary girl who hates to lose, is strong enough to take a hit, values the importance of reading the room, and hides her true feelings from others. She is a practical researcher who spends her days studying magecraft in some truly animated fieldwork.

She is the protagonist of this story who, to meet the expectations of others as the Child of Prophecy, sets off on a journey to save Britain.

...But that is only the face she presents to the world.

Artoria of Proper Human History was honest and forthright, but the Lostbelt Artoria is not as strong-willed; she is frail, timid, and a pessimist. Internally, she sighs in exasperation at the foolishness of being the Child of Prophecy, as well as at the self-destructive tendency of so many in pinning their hopes on a prophecy. (She's neither dispassionate nor dismissive of their plight. Thinking about it just kind of gets her down.)

Since Artoria is always concerned with the feelings of those around her, she is unable to express her own true feelings. She does not want to hate or come into conflict with others, so she tends to just agree to do what is asked of her in whatever way she's expected to behave. She works very hard because the truth is that she is clumsy, makes a lot of mistakes, and is constantly stumbling on her journey. The one thing she is truly good at is getting right back on her feet, which is why she's constantly making apologies for being so weak, and promising to do better. Every time she makes these promises though, she finds herself thinking about how terrifying fighting is, how exhausting hatred is, and how wonderful it would be to just live an ordinary life.

Artoria may be her own harshest critic, but no matter how bad the environment around her, or how badly she's treated, it is not in her nature to give in to evil, forget her manners, or stop caring around the people around her. And that is proof of just how truly noble in spirit she is. That very trait was also the crucial difference between herself and Oberon.

One might expect a Child of Prophecy on her pilgrimage to do everything she could to help others, even if it's scary. The truth, though, is that the Child of Prophecy set out on her journey to do her best, because she knew people would be disappointed if she was frightened.

She always conceals her deeply negative feelings. "Everyone is scary, society is nauseating. I don't have any motivation to save the world, but I also don't want to go against the people around me, so I'll try to be their savior."

Despite that, her deeds appear noble in others' eyes, seeming a worthy equivalent to King Arthur's way of life. In truth, though, Artoria Caster is obsequious, reactionary, and pessimistic. So she constantly criticizes herself, thinking, "I pulled it off this time, but I'm sure they'll sack me the next time around."

If Faerie Britain was a fairy tale envisioned by Morgan, the Pilgrimage would be a tale following Artoria's growth and evolution. Her role may be similar to the character Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz," but in actuality she is a combination of the Scarecrow who cannot walk properly (who does not have his own footing and lacks wisdom), the Tin Woodsman who lacks a heart, and the Cowardly Lion, combined into one. So how did this Artoria manage to keep being the Child of Prophecy until the very end, and what was she fighting for? The answer to that question will spell the end of her tale.
History
Artoria Caster is the Lostbelt version of Artoria Pendragon, the "Child of Prophecy" chosen by the Staff of Selection, rather than the Sword of Selection. 16 years prior to the start of Lostbelt 6, it was foretold that in 16 years, the Child of Prophecy would go on a pilgrimage, ringing six bells and uniting the faeries to overthrow Morgan's tyrannical rule.

Unlike other versions of Artoria, Caster does not possess the "dragon" trait, as she is a faerie created by the planet itself to be Lostbelt Britain's savior. Washing up on the shores of Tintagel in a boat as a baby, along with the Staff of Selection, she was raised by Ector and taught magecraft from a voice coming from the staff who claimed to be "Merlin".

She would travel through Britain alongside Fujimaru Ritsuka of Chaldea and many other allies, ringing the bells of pilgrimage and unlocking more and more of her latent powers, as well as memories of her true duty. In truth, her pilgrimage's final destination is the Site of Selection in Avalon, where she would become a Holy Sword for Chaldea in place of the Holy Sword the original six faeries neglected to create, creating this Lostbelt in the first place. This was averted, however, by the intervention of Senji Muramasa.

Though she ultimately fulfilled her duties by defeating the final calamity and disappeared, having consecrated her body into that of a holy sword itself, she became an "anthropic principle auxiliary device" that aids those who oppose a threat that endangers the Planet, named Artoria Avalon, and was summoned as a Servant to Chaldea.
Abilities
Magic Resistance (A Rank)
Cancel spells of A-Rank or below, no matter what greater Magecraft it is.
Item Construction (B Rank)
Able to create tools that harbor Magical Energy. That said...the most common ones are "activated by running magical energy through them/one-time uses". The latter mostly resemble bombs.
Territory Creation (EX Rank)
The one who stands within the white walls of Camelot—stronghold of the Human Order. She gives form to one of the greatest defensive formations in a confrontation with a "Threat to Humanity".
Fae Eyes (A Rank)
A form of vision, innate to faeries, which "converts the world." It is different than the Mystic Eyes some humans possess. These are said to be the eyes of greater faeries who can pierce through all falsehoods and reveal the truth. For faeries, who conflate goodwill and malice, it is a rather pointless ability. If a human who puzzles over the distinctions between such things were to possess these eyes, however, it would not lead anywhere good.

Thanks to these eyes, Artoria Caster sees the truth behind the lies of all she encounters. As such, she saw the human world as a "storm of malice," and was both frightened and disgusted by faeries and humans alike. While asleep, she dreamt only of the storm of malice. It would have been no surprise had she become so disillusioned that she abandoned her mission to save Britain, but she held on to a single hope: a brilliant blue star she glimpsed beyond the storm.

Fae Eyes Opt-In/Out
Charisma of Hope (B Rank)
Artoria, who was raised as a prophesied savior, is endowed with charisma that caused many people to rely upon her and expect great feats from her during her travels.
Avalon le Fae (A Rank)
A power hidden by the name "Protection of the Lake." Faeries from paradise possess the ability to bless life and protect their targets' fate from many forms of corruption.
Holy Sword Creation (EX Rank)
A power hidden by the name "Sword of Selection." When this ability truly awakens, everything Artoria creates is imbued with a "sword" attribute.
Around Caliburn (Rank A)
NP Type: Anti-Army
Range: 0 - 50
Maximum Target: 100

The Star of Hope That Embraces You.

Artoria's mindscape is unleashed upon the physical world by the Staff of Selection. It is the tolling of the bell from paradise, and it both strengthens and protects all who fight alongside her... even if she herself does not know how it got its name...
Round of Avalon (Rank A++)
NP Type: Anti-Army
Range: 1-999
Maximum Targets: All allies

The Promised Star Assembles a Perfect Circle.

Artoria's Noble Phantasm after she became the Guardian of Britain. Camelot in twilight is manifested, and she bestows the "Knights of the Round Table" Gift upon those fighting alongside her. (The in-game effects are identical to Around Caliburn.)

Artoria Caster fulfilled her duties in Faerie Britain, then vanished. After offering her body to the Holy Sword and becoming the sword itself, she became a device whose purpose was to aid humanity in opposing threats to the planet.

Its name: Artoria Avalon. The third Ascension is her actual form, while her appearance in the first and second Ascensions represent a life someone once lived... It is a simulacrum of springtime memories belonging to that girl who traveled as a Child of Prophecy, rather than the recorded history of a faerie of paradise.
Swimsuit Spirit Origin
A mage from one of the Lostbelts arrives to solve an incident in a tropical Singularity, changing her Spirit Origin to make her summer debut. By changing the magecraft she learned into song and dance, she is now able to handle much more complex magecraft at will (or so she claims.) The guardian of the holy sword has now become quite the aficionado of all things summer.

"My name may have 'Caster' in it, but I'm a Berserker. I can see why people find me so intriguing!"

As Artoria Caster happily babbles away, Fou walks by with an indifferent look. (Special translation: Not really... Same as always.)

Needless to say, she became a Berserker because of her rivalry with Morgan. In her Third Ascension form, she appears as the Guardian of the Holy Sword and goes by AA.

Typically, Artoria Caster and AA can be considered to be the same person, but this time around, Artoria Caster and AA are definitively separate and operate as distinct individuals.
Magic Resistance (B Rank)
It seems like her Magic Resistance is weaker now that she's a Berserker.
Item Construction (E Rank)
Because it was revealed she could only make items intended for sabotage, it's quite low in rank. It's world accredited.
Madness Enhancement (A Rank)
Artoria Caster is very much a pacifist, and AA is practically a walking brain, yet she possesses a highly ranked Madness Enhancement skill. It may be inexplicable, but it's worth noting how bizarre the situation was to begin with, given that AA, who is considered to be the embodiment of reason, forfeited her duties just "because it's summer."

As for Artoria Caster, she officially gained the Madness Enhancement skill in her Second Ascension.
Spring's Pulse (EX Rank)
Ordinary Artoria Caster's first skill, transformed by the liberating power of summer. It has changed from a skill that supports the whole party to one which benefits Artoria alone.

Everything's so happy! Battle and vacation are both super fun!
Summer Faerie (B Rank)
Ordinary Artoria Caster's second skill, which was changed along with her class. Or at least, that's what it's supposed to be, but unlike her other skills, this one doesn't seem to have changed all that much. Also called the Vacation Faerie who shares summer fun with all.
Holy Sword Manipulation (A Rank)
A skill that strengthens the familiars extracted from the holy sword. A version of the Holy Sword Creation that's only for herself. It is the very concept of the holy sword, and regardess of whether she is AA, protector of humanity, the moment she turns into a Berserker, she will only strengthen herself.

The familiars that appear during battle are created from the holy sword's essence and are as follows:
The orca corresponds to Totsuka-no-Tsurugi. Its name is Ector.

The golden eagle corresponds to Mistilteinn. Its name is Mach.
Hope Will Camelot (Rank A+)
NP Type: Anti-God
Range: 1 - 90
Maximum Targets: 1

The Sword of Hope That Grants the Long-Cherished Desire.

Rhongomyniad, once spears built to defend Camelot, the city of sin, in Faerie Britain, are reproduced with this anti-calamity enforcement Noble Phantasm. This is the spell that was used to purge the curse in Lostbelt Britain, and it is a combination of Excalibur and Rhongomyniad. Normally, the explosion from this Noble Phantasm would cover a massive area as a result of the sheer quantity of magical energy released, but it has been confined to a single target. This means it is also a powerful Bounded Field which does not cause collateral damage. It is especially powerful agains Chaotic, Divine, and Threat to Humanity targets. When this Noble Phantasm is used, Artoria Caster does not act like a girl frolicking in the summer sun, but carries herself as a pure Child of Prophecy and the Guardian of the Holy Sword.
